The koala is from the Phascolarctidae family and is an Australian marsupial that lives in eucalypt trees that is found in eastern and southern Australia. It has a diet of eucalypt leaves, which means it can sleep up to 20 hours a day.
The koala has a large head with round, fluffy ears and is covered in fur of shades from silver grey to chocolate brown. The koala is 60–85 cm (24–33 in.) in length and weighs 4–15 kg (9–33 lb.).
This koala was on display at Australia Zoo at Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast.
