The blue-and-yellow macaw is also known as the blue-and-gold macaw and is a large South American parrot.
These beautiful parrots can reach a length of 76–86 cm (30–34 in.) and weigh 0.900–1.5 kg (2–3 lb.). The blue-and-yellow macaw features vivid colours of blue and green on their wings and tail, with golden underneath and a green forehead.
This blue-and-yellow macaw was one of many exotic birds showcased at Maleny Botanic Gardens.
